I read that some bowyers are making reflex to D shape at brace height bows. I like radical r/d longbows (Shrew) and was wondering what is the closest I can get to which is competition legal in longbow class
Thats a nice trait to have. They also exhibit excellent vertical stability which is something that not all hybrid style bows have.
.
i think you can extend that to our bows too, The NFAS has a tough time keeping the Harrier out the titles i beleave. You also need to see the World record set by Katrina in Estonia. I think you should encompass all bows and not just the ones that catch your personal eye.I doubt if there's a week goes by in Europe where someone isn't winning a tournament with one of Andy's bows, they are truly the best of the best along with Ron Kings. I have heard good things about the Sigma, if it tops the Zeta then that leaves all the other guys even further behind the ball but I guess that's what happens when a top level tournament archer designs tournament specific bows. He wins with them himself then puts them into production, it's a great formula![]()
Toms bow has string silencers also, maybe more about the release, I have one of Toms bows and its very niceI think the noise difference between those 2 bows is amazing Steve.
Katrin has in IFAA 4 world and 5 European titles now and last year she was 3rd at Fita 3D worlds, Spanish girl who won fita 3D's was shooting a 21st Edge and she also won IBO worlds last year and was 2nd to Kats at European Fields.o
Im sure someone will correct me, but Katarin has achived 4 1st places at world titles.
I dont know why Andy doesnt contribute, He has a Username, and lurks alot. Last time we met he commented on my posts since he keeps up with Tradtalk.Sid,
The whole thing about a thread like this is that you have to be subjective and state your own views and opinions.
As far as NFAS and EFAA goes, the best female and male AFB shooters both happen to use Blackbrook bows. Sarah Parker as I stated in another thread is unbeaten in 121 open shoots with hers but it doesn't mean that other shooters don't use other bows. Dennis Alston still wins with his old Sagi bow but my personal experience is that, at this present time, the Zeta is the top dog in Europe and has been for a while now.
I own both Fox and Blackbrook bows and have nothing but praise for both of them. As neither Andy nor Ron contribute to the site I am quite happy to promote their products for them. You are a regular here Sid and happily promote your own stuff, as do others. I respect your opinions on your bows but take more notice of others who shoot them by choice. Those opinions tend to be more real world.
We are well aware of your personal friendship's with Andy.Like I said Sid, you are here doing a stirling ( sorry for the Scottish pun) job of promoting your own bows, as you should, and yes of course it's the archer who makes the difference at the end of the day but the origin of the thread asked for ideas on fast IFAA longbows so I will give suggestions based on my own experience and preferences.
I have shot a few of your bows but choose not to own one so I would be remiss if I were to suggest to the thread starter that I thought they should be considered, that is a job for other who have more experience with them.
