If i remember: to determine riser length, do you measure the distance to the center of the limb bolts? Or is there a different formula?

measure riser from center of bolts at bases and add 5 inches (2 ILF pockets at 2.5 inches each).
Note - all 17 inch risers are not 17 inches

How is it that Archery has such strange measurement systems. Riser length is a physical measurement from limb bolt to limb bolt center and then add 5" Why do they do that? Why not just say its a 20" riser because one can actually measure 20 inches, instead of adding 5 inches to make the number bigger?

Like with draw length. Measure the string at full draw to throat of the grip and the add 1-3/4 inches

Or string length is the bow length minus 3 inches.

Its just crazy.
