I don't see Otto wearing a mask. You need to impress on him the importance of doggie distancing.

Up letting the dog out before the heavy rain comes. My mega dud ticket only had two numbers. ButThe guy i gave a set of aluminum arrows and a Red wing Hunter to dropped by and insisted that i take a $100 bill and is giving us two prime rib dinners at his restaurant Saturday night. What goes around comes around.

We're at the tail-end of a 4 day windstorm here in the eastern foothills of the Cascades. Daytime highs have been in the 50s, average winds 25 to 35, and we had frost a couple of times - enough to kill some of the blossoms on Tina's honeyberry plants. Very unusual for late May here in Eastern WA. Supposed to be a little warmer and calmer today, and in the 80s by the end of next week.

Been working on the truck, in spite of the wind. I can get the front end into my garage, and the wind isn't too bad once you're ten feet back from the open door or so. Truck is starting again with all the new injectors in, but running rough. Probably a fuel delivery problem or maybe one of the injector wires isn't connected right. Once I've got it running right, I'll bring some building materials for my new garage up from Yakima, then dive back in and change out the oil cooler.

Today, though, I need a day off. Tina and I will probably head for Yakima or Wenatchee, grab a takeout lunch and eat it in a park somewhere, and then just loaf a bit.

I started a new project last night. I am learning to play Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode on guitar. So far it is going great. I am pretty much through the solo and working on smoothing it out, memorizing, getting the timing down, and getting rid of mistakes. It is not particularly hard but it is fast and you have to get the sound right. I have been working on it on an acoustic guitar because it is quieter. Later today, when everyone is awake, I will break out my Fender Strat and play it. I have tried to play this before and it never really clicked. Now, it seems to be working. I am a traditional blues guitarist but I have been branching out lately, expanding my skill base. I think that is helping me with this.

Big wind here yesterday too. Got in 4 hours of windsurfing and now my hands are well and truly beat. I lost all my calluses so I've got some skin to try and regrow before the next windy day.

Nice to be out in my natural element in my preferred way rather than onboard ship.

I have the opening of Johnny B. Goode now but I am able to play it better on my acoustic guitar. I need to work more on the electric. I am a finger style player so the issue is getting the right tone with an electric using fingers. I would not call myself an experienced electric guitar player, just like I shoot a compound but am not experienced with it. Life is full of parallels.

Went hiking in a canyon south of town I hadn't been to in a couple years. I'd only ever explored there in the fall when climbing conditions were good, but now it's a riot of wild iris, larkspur, columbine, grapes, roses, and all sorts of other fun plants. Great place to get away from everyone since it's a bit frustratingly busy with tourists in town at the moment. Now it's a waiting game to see if I successfully avoided all the poison ivy while hiking in sandals.

I am not hopeful.

I didn't know there was poison ivy in Arizona. It is all poison oak out here in California.

I've been trying to learn to play guitar with some of my new extra time. Very challenging for an old guy with no musical aptitude. Sure makes me appreciate what a good musician can do.
