Anyone know max # of turns out on limb bolts? Black Bear with plates using Trad Tech med limbs. Don't remember what the bolt length is, but from cranked down to all the way out is 16 turns. TIA.
Have read to keep at least 3-6 threads still in riser to maintain some sort of stability and not strip out. That is with ILF bows so don't see how this would differ much.
I'm not sitting here seeing your bolts, but generally speaking you're safe up to 5 turns out from lightly snugged down. SOMEWHERE around there the ILF fittings will begin binding in the riser slot, as the angle of limb to riser changes enough that it (fitting) needs to move but is a little bit stuck. Beyond that point it really doesn't matter how many turns farther out you can go. Generally you can get what you need in 3-4-5 turns out.
That's what I was thinking. I'm 4 turns out from snug. Thanks.
