First shoot of the new year
Went shooting for the first time this year, actually first time in quite a while. I was having back issues, but last spring I was diagnosed with MS. My back and foot pain were from the MS not just getting old and being out of shape.
The Covid lockdowns made things worse, couldn't go to work.
Was sort of down though the summer, the heat makes the symptoms worse.
Asked my daughter if she wanted to shoot with me in the fall as it cooled off. Her reply was I'm not interested. They started doing archery in the school just before Christmas and now she is leaving the house at 7:00 am to get to archery practice on her own. She has her first match on Tuesday.
Anyway went with my daughter on Saturday morning for about an hour and a half. We were both pretty tired by the end. She shot her 25# Omega Native that her and I finished in a purple aniline dye. ( I have a matching 45# one). I shot my Falco longbow at 30#. The 30# was too much for me, I will break out a mini-mag warf with lighter limbs for next weekend

Re: First shoot of the new year
My daughters used to shoot with me in the back yard up until about a year ago. They have shown no interest in quite some time. Nothing so time consuming as the academic and social lives of teenage girls it seems. I miss that simple time with them. Happy for you and hoping mine will rekindle their interests one day.

Re: First shoot of the new year
best of luck to you. I taught my son and daughter to shoot both guns and bows as kids but they lost interest as they aged. Both in bows and me.

Re: First shoot of the new year
About the only time I shoot these days is with my boys; although screen time seems to be outweighing their interest mostly.
Stay healthy Dave. Pace yourself.

Re: First shoot of the new year
I miss shooting with my daughter as well, she shows no interest at all right now. The three boys don't show any interest either...sad.
MS is not fun. I take care of the pools and HVAC equipment at our fitness center (I am a hospital (stationary) engineer) There is a group class for folk with MS in the 82° pool, they cannot tolerate the 93° therapy pool.

Re: First shoot of the new year
I gave my 35 yo son a Samick Sage Elite takedown for Christmas. We shot together yesterday for the first time in years and had a good time. We made plans to hit some 3D shoots this spring.
