Hoyt Spectra Lite Hunter
1 Attachment(s)
Good evening! I have a question. I have my first compound bow which was a Hoyt Spectra Lite Hunter. Since the limb surface in the pocket is not flat I would assume it’s not a candidate for a WARF bow. Would this be correct?

If this riser looks like the Spectra or Rambo risers it is a fabulous candidate for Warfing. You can purchase ILF conversion plates on EBAY from Hawkeye and slap those puppies on there and have one of the best recurves for the money. If you have a shorter Draw Length you may want to add a couple pounds to the limbs you want due to the laid back limb pad angles.

yeh there's a Rambo or Spectra warf on the blanket ads, I think, if your riser looks similar, they are GREAT as Rick said.
I must have had at least 27 of them, haha, and I love them.

I warfed a Spectra Lite recently and the only thing that never meshed with me was the grip , too narrow. Glen's plates (Hawkeye mfg) are the way to go and you might consider the bushings and bolt washers as well. I packed those voids in the limb pockets flush with epoxy putty and let the plates float on a thin pad of dense plastic and it made for a very quiet riser.

Re: Hoyt Spectra Lite Hunter
The hawkeye plates are good. My risers with plates are quiet, and I don't put anything in the pockets. In fact I don't even really attach the plates with anything more than outdoor double sided tape.

Thank you all for the input. I appreciate it very much.

You will find that many conversions use epoxy like JBWeld to permanently attach the plates. Another alternative is to create a little bottom weighting by adding lead shot to the epoxy and fill the cavity in the bottom limb pocket.
