Having owned and shot them both my choice would be/is the Wapiti.

I still own both. the Wes Wallace Mentor take-down is my favorite wooden riser recurve. two sets of limbs 60" 55#@28" and 64" 45#@28. (well three sets really 60" 65#@28" now to heavy for me). I use the 45# for 3D and the 55# for Elk, bear, and big pigs.

Just because I like the Wallace recurves does not mean you will. to each his own

(I) Have a friend who owns a Wes Wallace and he really likes it. I've shot it as well and it's a nice shooting TD recurve...That said, it floats his boat a lot higher than mine.......No experience with the Wapiti.

I think Wes Wallace tutored under and helped build some of the late Jim Brackenbury's bows.

That is correct.

The choice between the two bows could be hard to make. In my case there were two deciding factors.

1. I prefer the 2 bolt per limb attachment on the Wapiti
2. Mr. Wallace does not make a 58" recurve, which again I prefer.

I do not believe a person would be dissapointed with either makers product. Just a matter of personal preference.
