Neat catch on the trail cam!
A cat would be a struggle for a Coopers unless he got the neck/head on the initial stoop. Even then he might regret it.
The Coopers and Sharpies around here are regulars at bird feeders plus the occasional snake. I wonder if the cat was encroaching on the hawk's bird supply.
I've watched my falconer/brother hunt jack rabbits with a big redtail hawk and that is a rodeo once they get a grip on the jack especially if they miss the neck and head.
And the redtail is probably twice the size of a Coopers.
