Default Re: Continuity

Interesting video which made me remember my 1st impressions of the M16 when I really needed it and why I waited 49 years to buy my first AR15.

Being with MACV and part of the Advisory Groups to the Vietnamese Army, we were issued what they used. That happened to be M2 Carbines; little .30 cal magnum pistol rounds with a selector switch (finally found one with a folding stock that I loved). But when Charlie got AK47s, the ARVNs got the M16's along with the advisory units associated with them.

Shortly after that the TET offensive happened and it looked like our little unit might be overrun. The US 9th Infantry Division Artillery went so far as to confirm our position with some live fire one day so that none our intel or whatever, would be lost (or so the rumor spread). Same went for any survivors. Probably why I never joined the guard afterwards (although Kent State happened just as I got out also).

Well guess what? Remember those neat little stripper clips you could quickly load a magazine with? We didn't have any. Only five 20 round mags per man and civilian type boxed ammo of 20 rounds each complete with the little cardboard cartridge dividers. So, that first impression has lingered.
Grizzly could be changed to Calledoutofthewoods, since being called to Church.

If you can't remember where you left your shoes and socks, a shooting system may not work......
