Default Need some camera advice please

I put this on the watering hole forum but Dana suggested this would be a better place ..... so

In a hollow gate post on our small piece of land we have nesting Blue Titmouse. I'd like to set up a small cheap camera to film the adults feeding their chicks and perhaps capture the moment the chicks leave the nest.

I know nothing about modern digital video cameras that you can attach to a lap top ... so I wondered if anyone could recommend a small video camera I can hide in a near by tree and film this little miracle of nature.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ... thanks

mine is a primos truth cam 35 ultra.
I've not tried video setting, but it's supposed to be capable, according to the directions.
I use it for stills.......it seems to take pretty good pics.
Around $100 US, ? 2 years ago.

Depends on your budget and what quality of videos/pics you are looking for. I have a Bushnell Trophy cam that takes good videos and pics. I also have a couple of Recoynx that will take a pic every time something triggers it, and you can set it up to take pics with no delays.

A much better idea Phil than what I did. We had a robin's nest in one of our trumpeter honeysuckle vine. I'd reach in with my wife's phone every day for a quick photo. Everything was sweet and lovely until the last day I tried that and the 4 young Robins blew out of the nest. I left the grasses high for a day or two and never found any that didn't make it. I was sorry to have messed up the natural order of things, but the pictures were shared by my wife many who really enjoyed watching the rapid growth of the young birds.

Some Bushnell trail cams have HD video capacity. I love the video quality I get from those.

I would not buy a trail cam strictly to monitor a bird nest, tho'.

I'm a fan of the Canon Rebel series. Good bang for the buck, and easy to use

Stealth cam makes great trail cameras that have superb video capabilities. I have a G42N that is black flash and great, smooth video.
