Default Would you shoot this limb?

I went to take my bow off of the bow tree down at the range and noticed a small chunk of the "carbon fiber" was missing? Is this structural? Is this limb still safe to shoot?

The peg on the bow tree was a little old, but I was very careful. I guess it's time to invest in a bow stand. Brand new Hoyt 720's I got for Christmas too... =[

I would send that picture to Hoyt! Curious as to the white "glob"?

Larry, I think that is the core.

I have never had a chip that deep but on small dings I put some super glue on it and have good luck. I don't know how cross weave carbon handles with chips?

I'd keep shooting and monitor them. If they fail, file warranty claim and maybe get some 840s for replacement

"White glob" appears to be flash reflection.

Yes, the large white blob is the reflection of the lamp above.

I mean the one at the bottom of the hole where the chip came out. Doesn't look continuous.

Is it possible it has been hit with an air rifle pellet or something similar? Maybe you could fill it with some epoxy resin, but I wouldn't shoot it without wearing safety glasses at least.

It's strange that the whole is so round, but I can't imagine it being shot. I don't own a pellet gun and they aren't allowed down at the range...

It looks like a hunk of resin. Typically, wovens are produced at stage2 and the resin softens to flow stage when pressed with heat at a proper temp. That looks like a resin rich area where the resin pooled instead of fully wetting that area.

That's pretty weird in a number of ways.
