I received my Black Douglas last June. Going back a few pages I did post a pic of my phenolic riser. I just wanted to update my impressions of my BD with this post.

The more I shoot this bow the more I like it. I am at the point if and when I shoot my other bows I compare to the BD and immediately go back to the BD.

This bow is very fast but it is also consistent. Sure I need to do my part but I am really getting comfortable with it. The let off feel is so obvious on this bow it has become a part of my shot routine (if that makes sense). I have a double anchor and I feel the let off, then knuckle to my ear, feather to my nose. Hold a few seconds and shoot.

I mentioned shooting a few other bows but in truth I don't really. I guess I figure the BD is my best bow so why shoot the others.

Really enjoying my BD and it looks as good as it shoots too.

Bill W.

Bill, have you had a chance to try Hex 7 or 7.5s yet? I think the 7.5s are the best so far. They seem quieter and more forgiving than my Hex 6 limbs and have less vibration than my Hex 7 limbs on the CH I had.

No, I am afraid to. LOL

My Black Douglas has the latest Hex 6.7 w/BB2 limbs you can get on a BD. Before ordering the BD I owned a set of Hex 6 BB2 ILF limbs. Those limbs are what sold me on Border.

I have wondered how a Covert with the latest Hex 7's might shoot but I don't know of any to try around here. Now, I say I am not or would not buy anything now but I still would like to try one.

Oh, as much as I liked the ILF limbs I like the way my BD shoots even more.

Bill

I picked up a set of shorts to try next to my mediums on my 19" Covert Hunter riser. Waiting on a string.
I know I can still shoot the mediums, but getting anxious to give the shorts a full test.
I do like these bows....

The Tempest is a nice looking riser, thanks for the pics. It reminds me of the risers on the old Merlin compounds with the bridge on the front.

That Tempest is a tough act to follow, but here is my 21" ilf CH phenolic. I hate to post pictures, cause they just dont do the bow justice. If you held this in your hands and moved it around, the character just pops out at you. The way the light hits the carbon lamination's is stunning to say the least. I need to order some red and black D97 to make a string for this beauty.

Kenn good pictures, those red lines really stand out, it's a great looking bow you've got there.
