I had some fibers pop out on some limbs this year. It looked like a gash. I was able to shoot the FITA field tournament I was at, and an NFAA field shoot. I stopped when I noticed a big tiller change.

The peg on the bow tree was a little old, but I was very careful. I guess it's time to invest in a bow stand. Brand new Hoyt 720's I got for Christmas too... =[
Thats a printed surface. Dont know whats under it. But that is not carbon fiber as it depicts.

just guessing, but when car upholstery looks like that it is usually cigarette burns. But nothing seems to have effected the next layer. air pocket let loose?

I'd just contact Hoyt an ask them to sort it out.
An, no way would I shoot that limb.
Even if it didn't blow it would do my head in anyway.

Good luck,
John.

Thanks. I've emailed Hoyt and I'm waiting to hear back.

Agreed. I think I'd flinch on every release with these now!

Have any kids with BB guns? Fill it with EA40 let it cook off and shoot em like ya stole em. When they give the ghost send em back for refund.

After a good deal of back and forth and lot of waiting I've finally got good news. I received a back-order notification for a pair of 840's from Lancaster!

Good on both Lancaster and Hoyt for helping make this right.

So was it Lancaster archery that elected to go ahead and send you the new limbs? Or Hoyt that had one of their retailers send you the limbs?

Hoyt asked me to send the limbs back to the retailer for inspection. Lancaster then had to wait for the final verdict from Hoyt.

Did Hoyt give any speculation as to what may have caused the damage?

I never really got an explanation, but I'm OK with that given the outcome. =]
