Default Original ILF dovetail angle?

Anybody know for sure what the Hoyt angle is on the dovetail?

I have been using a 65x495 here lately with good results and the angle off the fitting clears well.

I cut hundreds at 45.

Sam- Do you still use this angle? The reason I ask is that my Dad and I have original Sky Conquest risers. Mine has been modified by swapping out the brass stabilizer bushings for stainless bushings, and I had my riser powder coated yellow. Since mine isn't original anymore, I would love to have the proprietary Conquest dovetail recut so that it would accept an ILF fitting. I'm not a machinist, but figure the square shoulder of the dovetail could be remilled by knocking the shoulder off. Sound right?

I would need a picture to tell you for sure and also measure down to the dovetail radius, the end of the dovetail and see if it is 2.100 or less? If the dovetail is close? You could send it to me and I would cut them to spec for a dime and shipping. Lately, I have been using a 45 angle 16mm cutter for any variable in fittings. Some, and is a good thing just do a bottom up cut of what looks like 30 or thousands instead of a continuous angle. The 16 mm and a little more on the sides give me lots of room keeping the 7/16's slot width and 1/4 inch depth.

Thanks for the offer Sam! I'll get back with you on it. I have a friend through church that is a machinist, but I don't know if he has the appropriate dovetail cutter. If he did, I'll ask him to save on shipping. Otherwise, I'll package them up!

Just an update. The lateral adjustment screws that Earl Hoyt designed on this riser have full contact with the Conquest's square shoulder fitting. When I put an ILF fitting in there, based upon where the lateral adjustment screws are in relation to the dovetail, the ILF fitting won't have any contact with the screws. So in a nutshell, it wouldn't be wise to have the riser modified. I would need to put an ILF insert like the Spigarelli ILF insert in order to use ILf on the riser. Oh well. I'll just keep it as is.

Thanks though Sam!
