Default Morrison ILF risers

Has anyone put a set of ANY of the variousTradtech limbs on a Morrison ILF riser such as his 13 or 15" riser. I am trying to see how much weight was gained from the TT weight to the weight on the morrison riser?

Give Bob a call. He sells his riser with TT limbs at times.

I have a set of short BlackMax carbons that are marked 45#. They scale 44.5# @28" on my scale with my 13" Morrison riser backed out 1 turn. I have checked this scale against the one at the archery club and it is always within .5#.

I've found that due to the geometry of the riser's.And the length differance the TT limbs do gain weight.

that's interesting. One set of TT limbs doesn't gain anything and the other gains 11-12# , both on a 13" riser. I would think there is a weight gain also. I'm trying to figure out how much so I can get suitable limbs.

Thank you. I'd be interested in your results. The black max limbs are rated in a 17" riser I believe. Ken

Suposedly Bobs risers will show the same weight, regardless of riser length due to him changing the limb pad angles. That being said, my 19 with 30# black max will show 36# @ 28 with bolts 1 full turn out. Bob told me that black max gain 5#, so Id say he knows what he is doing.

Had achance to weigh my 50# BlackMax carbons on that same Morrison 13" riser. They go 50#@28. These same limbs, same scale, go 49.5# on my SKY 17" TDX. Since they are marked for a 17" riser the SKY seems right on the mark. All measurements were taken with the bolts bottomed then backed off 1 full turn. All measurements were taken @ 26.25" to the throat of the grip (AMO standard for 28" draw) and repeated 3 times then average rounded to nearest .5 pound. This is a wood riser, and by it's serial number it was produced in December of '09. Current production wood and metal risers may have different pocket angles resulting in increased weight gain.

Current wood riser have the same limb angle as they did from when we started selling them. The 13" has the same angle in wood or metal.

Bob
Bob,
I've been thinking of getting one of your 13" risers, what is the weight gain on limbs rated for a 25" riser

Roger,

They are plus 8-10 pounds on a 25" rating. Four pounds on our limbs.

Yep Bob I find more varience in the limbs then the risers. At least when building limb for your risers I can count on the weight being right.
