It looks like this site has been taken over by political talk and now the election is over i thought I would post something else to argue about.
I have been using Border bows since 2012 and absolutely love the product. I started out with Hex 6 ILF limbs and then went to the Covert Hunter and am now shooting Hex 7.5 mins on a W&W RCX 17 riser and have on order a 19" Covert Hunter ILF riser in phenolic to put these limbs on.
Border has been easy to deal with and the customer service and craftsmanship is second to none.
I almost forgot the 7 series metal black Tempest that I put the Hex 6 limbs on. I can't wait till there are some leagues starting in my area to give it a workout.
Sid just posted a pic of my phenolic riser roughed out on Facebook.
I like the performance and looks of Border products but I've had a lot of bad luck with their limbs which has made me lose faith. When I shot them I had good tourney scores/results Won Euro 3D's and 2nd at Euro Fields. It's also good to know others have had good experiences.
That's a bummer about your limbs. I know how you are feeling. I had a pair of Winex blow up on me and almost put my eye out. No recourse as the place I got them from was out of business and they were over a year old.
Have a 17" first generation DAS that I would like to arm with 7.5's for flight shooting! Just do not have the bucks right now.
How are you liking Montana? Good, I hope.
Larry, that would be a great setup. Have you talked with Sid? Maybe he would make you a deal on something.
We are loving Montana. The weather has been outstanding this year. It is sunny and a little over 60 today. We are making an offer on some property this week and hope to build a house next year. I will be able to hunt next year also so that will make it even better.
Don't forget the beautiful and outstanding wood Border bows. I love my Black Douglas with a 25" riser and medium 6.5 limbs. In fact it was so outstanding, that shortly after it was delivered in the summer of 2015, my wife told me that she really loved it. So, you know the rest of the story . . .
I absolutely love my Border CH. It shoots like a dream - a work of art and and trad rocket launcher rolled into one. I spent months pouring over the specs and wood options, peppering the Sids with questions via email and Skype and always receiving warm, informative responses. Ordering and delivery from Scotland to Canada was incredibly easy, too. Honestly, I can't picture shooting anything else.
Mat, yes they have a CH ILF. You can see pics on their Facebook page right now near the top. Joe has a 17" one he has had for probably a year now. If it handles as well as the Covert Hunter I had I will be a happy fella.
Great looking bows and they seem to spit an arrow out there. When you order one don't you have to say what your draw length is as they will match the right length limbs. And I thought I read your not to draw them too far past your draw as it can harm the limbs.
Nice pics and glad they work for you! Just like cars, one style does not fit all.
