Rusty; Could you give me the run down on stringwalking or point me in the right direction for some quality reading on the topic. My big concern is screwing up my bow. I currently shoot split finger as I have forever. I have a 62" recurve #55 @28" that I draw between 30 1/2" built by Steve Turay of Northern Mist Longbows in Negaunee MI. It's a quality built bow to say the least. My shooting style is basically I know where to hold at whatever distance I need to shoot to. My knowledge of tuning is basic but I know where to bring my bow to have it tuned. Long story short is I love shooting and hunting with my recurve, I love all things trad and I'm here to learn. Thanks for all the help up front.

Rusty, was looking through your pics and noticed that you like to use wilson grip tape for some of your handles. I found a product that i use for the same reason and haven't anything that works as well, it's called "self-amalgamating tape", it's used to waterproof telecom connections. You stretch it as you apply it and it seals to itself, it's non-maring and works great. cost about $15 a roll. just search for it on the internet if your interested, you'll find it.

Hi Rusty, I think you posted in answer to my question a long time ago about arrow spine. Do you have a spreadsheet or something to calculate arrow spine? I am especially curious as most charts don't account for much weight up front.

I enjoy your posts and read most of your posts on the border's sight. Someday, I hope to buy one.

    Rusty,
Would you happen to know if a PROLINE TYPHOON XT IS WARFABLE.
The riser is 21" and has cam limbs on at the present. I do not have access to a picture at the moment.

    Thanks,
    Craig

Rusty good to have you back and know that you are up and running.

I know that your comments are from the heart and we welcome the boost that they give to our products you have all of our thanks for that.

Hope that you don't mind if I give you an update.

The TXB and TXG limbs have been uprated with the new CXC laminate to CXB and CXG. The big gain is torsional stability it has been more than doubled compared to the TXG. there is also a small speed benefit about 2 to 3 fps as we have stripped out about 200 grains of laminate mass in the new layup. The CXC laminate has also been used in the HEX4 and HEX5 limbs with great gains. All these limbs are exceptionally stable laterally. The HEX5 are significantly stable and fast with very low noise levels. One guy here a 1250 Fita shooter improved his FITA 18 m scores from 570+ to 580+ shooting HEX5's over G3 and he dropped 5lbs in bow weight for the same speed. The other big gain on the HEX5 limb is the exceptional vertical stability in the nock position. Not sure how all this would affect a string walker (the dark Art) you are the expert there but we would be happy to work with you on that if you were interested. Sid
